Two teachers hired at airport school board meeting

CARLETON – The Airport Community Schools School Board met on June 23rd.

Kimberly Rocholl has been hired as a special education teacher at Wagar Middle School. Madison Mannix was hired as a kindergarten teacher at Niedermeier Elementary School.

The board reached an agreement with Monroe County to approve an additional school resource officer for the upcoming school year.

The 2022 tax rate as shown on Form L-4029 has been approved. General debt service, capital projects, food services, sinking and 2018 bond construction budget recommendations and mileage rates were approved.

PJ Striping Co. LLC was hired to repair campus band roof cracks.

It was recommended that the board hold the regular school board election on November 8th.

Niedermeier principal Angel Mensing and Niedermeier teacher Megan Karrar have resigned.

Several staff members teach summer school for high school credit recovery and advancement. The first session runs until July 22. The second session runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from July 25 to August 19.

Several staff members teach the K-8 summer school; others serve as support staff. The session runs from July 19 to August 18; Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A special meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on July 12 at Wagar Middle School. The next general meeting will take place on July 21 at 6 p.m. in Wagar.
