GIKI 5 professors promoted

SWABI: Five faculty members from the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Science and Technology were promoted here on Thursday.

A ceremony was held attended by Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Rector of the GIK Institute, Prof. Dr. Wasim A. Khan, Academic Pro-Rector, Sardar Aminullah Khan, Administrative and Financial Pro-Rector and Academic Staff of the institute.

Professor Khalid presented promotion letters to faculty members and praised their contribution to academic activities and research work.

Faculty members promoted included Dr. Zahid Halim, (from Associate Professor to Professor; Dr. Syed Fawad Hussain, from Associate Professor to Professor; Dr. Sajjad Hussain, from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor; Dr. Muhammad Asif, from Professor assistant to associate professor, and Dr. Hadeed Ahmed Sher, from assistant professor to associate professor.

Promoted faculty members said their promotion meant that their academic and research work was appreciated and praised.

Meanwhile, Zain-ul-Abidin, Managing Director of Ignite visited the GIK Institute.

He discussed with the Rector, Deans and academic staff cutting-edge directions in information and communication technology while creating new opportunities by realizing innovative technological solutions based on research and development.

They discussed priority themes such as health and well-being, smart energy, digital industry, climate change and the environment, and digital life. Both agreed to strengthen cooperation and collaboration.
