Owensboro Community & Technical College has again been recognized as one of the Top Higher Education Employers Nationally, according to the Great Colleges to Work For Program’s 2022 survey.
“We are delighted to receive this honour. But we are even more thrilled to see that we did well in two additional categories and achieved honor status,” said OCTC President Dr. Scott Williams. “Our entire team has worked hard, participating in exercises and discussions to improve all aspects of our organization. I am very proud of all of our employees.
The results are based on a survey of 212 colleges and universities. In addition to the “Great College to Work For” recognition, a select group are named to the honor roll. Among average two-year colleges with 3,000 to 9,999 students, OCTC was one of only four honor roll winners nationally.
The Great Colleges to Work For program is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country, according to a release from OCTC. ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm, administered the survey and analyzed the results.
OCTC won honors in six categories this year: Supervisor/Department Manager Effectiveness; trust in senior management; well-being of faculty and staff; diversity, inclusion and belonging; mission and pride; and job satisfaction and support.
OCTC has 200 full-time and approximately 150 part-time employees serving the large Owensboro counties of Daviess, Ohio, Hancock and McLean. Since 2014, OCTC participates annually in the survey. Over 60% of employees invited to complete the survey at OCTC participated in the process.
“Our employees regularly participate in the survey at this level,” said Dr. Kevin Beardmore, Vice President of Student Affairs. “To be recognized in multiple categories is exceptional, but to achieve honorary status is truly ‘among the best’ recognition. We are grateful to our faculty and staff for all they do.
