Bay Village Schools Board accepts resignation of Superintendent Jodie Hausmann

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – On June 14, 2021, the Bay Village Schools of Education school board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Jodie Hausmann.

Hausmann announced that she had accepted the position of Executive Director of Connect, formerly known as North Coast Council, the largest Information Technology Center (ITC) in the state of Ohio, which serves 66 school districts, according to the schools press release.

It was noted that she would continue to work for the school district until the end of July and that she would continue to live in Bay Village.

Hausmann has served the neighborhood for the past three years. Prior to joining Bay Village Schools, she was Superintendent of the local Perkins School District.

Bay Village School Board President Lisa Priemer said, “We are sorry to see Superintendent Hausmann leave the district, but we thank her for her leadership and service to our learning community, especially during these past 18 months through a national health crisis and we wish him well in his new role. We look forward to Jodie making an even bigger impact on our district through her new role with Connect. The council will keep our community stakeholders informed as we move forward in our research process. “

Hausmann said, “It has been my greatest honor to lead the Bay Village learning community for the past three years. I loved walking the hallways and seeing our teachers and staff making a difference in the lives of the children. Never in my career have I witnessed such exemplary educational experiences that have enabled students to graduate with endless opportunities. Bay Village is successful because of the collective commitment of our teachers, staff, board members, parents and the community at large.

“My new position will allow me to use my masters and grow professionally in a different sector of the education industry.

The board of education has announced that it will search for a soon-to-be-appointed acting superintendent.
