Old Dorseyville School

I feel that the Dorseyville School is a very important center there in Dorseyville. Because it was the first educational building, and it was the first opportunity that Blacks were given to attend school. It was built by a Black minister at the time. In 1892 there were a lot of things going on.

For a Black minister, at that time, to build a building of that kind, to service mankind, I thought it was outstanding. Blacks, well, that's who lived in the area so that's why I'm concentrating on Blacks.
