All of my professional life I have preferred the big, soft pencil. That allows a quick impression, covering a lot of ground with a few strokes. By bearing down you can emphasize important elements of a particular subject.

But I also work in ink line with an acrylic transparent wash and a watercolor technique, which allows emphasis of architectural linear detail to show through the color.
