Albert Callais's 60th Wedding Anniversary
Albert Callais

The painting that you are looking at with the picture in the center, is his 60th wedding anniversary in November of 1955. All of his children remaining living of the 13 he had all attended and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I remember the date quite well.

The surrounding scenery it seems to be somewhat of his imagination with the long fences and the strange looking automobiles. The shrubbery appears to be somewhat generic. Some of the other paintings show a lot the Iberville Parish with palms and ferns and exotic birds. This one seems to be somewhat of a Wednesday afternoon painting.
